2.
African Heritage tours
The
above tour Brazil:
Rhythm and Diamonds also is the perfect African heritage
tour. For your mini group we would be able to put an emphasis on the slave trade
during all sightseeings. Brazil's state of Bahia has the longest history of
slavery on the American continent: 1500 to 1888, nowhere
in the Americas African culture is as alive as here, with many traditions
from Angola that still exist in Bahia but due to protracted civil war do not
exist in Africa anymore.
Or
new traditions have been formed: A dance that in effect comes from the training
of self defence techniques: Capoeira, Catholicism that incorporated and tolerates
the African Gods still today, Virgin Mary and Yemanjá...just as an example.
But
even if you cannot bring a mini group of 8, just by joining our regular tour,
the riches of African culture never escape your eye!
3.
Agricultural tours and other specialty tours to Brazil

are two ways to customize an agricultural trip for your group:One is to add

Samba Waterfalls tour we can add ranches and poultry farms
and pass through the worlds biggest soybean fields in the Brazilian state of
Paraná.

News from Brazil in brief
Brazil as a
member of the Euro area: why not? While rising during the last months public
debt as % of GDP is still less then Germany's and half that of a a country like
Belgium...
TAM airlines,
the ever expanding Brazilian airline, now has overtaken Varig as Brazil's biggest
domestic carrier and added Frankfurt as it's second European destination after
Paris. It also flies to Miami and is our choice to Manaus. It is the only airline
with daily nonstop flights to the capital of the state of Amazonas from the
United States.
Tony Blair visited Brazil and Argentina, making it clear that his government sees protectionism
by the European Union and by other rich nations as a serious obstacle to faster
economic development in South America. From that obviously everybody would benefit,
he just has to convince the protected groups in the rich world...
Authoritarian
government no thank you; asked whether an authoritarian government would
be preferable to a democratic government in 2000, 24 % of Brazilians still thought
yes, in 2001 this number has dropped to 18 %
Brazilian Socialist
Party leader still the same man, but Lula da Silva's party is trying to
sound more moderate: It is abandoning the hard left policies it made it an easy
target during the last 30 years. No mentioning of re-nationalizing recently
privatized industries and the party even cooperates with the government in negotiations
about necessary tax reforms with the intent of passing them before the elections
next year.
Clinton &
Hopkins...The Boys from Ipanema? Bill Clinton and Lector Hannibal actor
Anthony Hopkins were spotted in Rio de Janeiro's fashionable Ipanema district
recently. The former US President reportedly spent R$288 (approx. US$110) on three lady's Bikinis as presents...no word on who the intended recipients
are. The President was in Brazil to give a speech to professors and students
in São Paulo.
